Receiving the Vision
During this consecration I was seeking a prophetic word from God about what He’s calling for from me and from this ministry. I had some mind-blowing encounters where the vision became so clear, and so exciting that I wanted it all to start happening right now. I couldn’t sleep, I was so excited! I heard things like missionaries, home schooling, Honduras, and a van (…more on the van later). And won’t God do that sometimes? He’ll reveal vast mysteries to us in a way that leaves our mouths agape and our eyes sparkling. God also knows that mankind operates in a 24-hour day, and so He was sure to also reveal some step by step instructions to help me summit the mountain of exciting and BIG promises. So while I have a long-term view of where God is going to call this ministry, I also received some details about where to start.
“Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it.
Midway through the fast, I attended a Vision Board Workshop as a part of the Healing Room Experience at Fabulous Finds where we learned the importance of receiving a vision. Brenda Colter of HER Beautiful Mind, was a wealth of information on the value of having a vision for your life. We wrote our “Be, Do, Have” lists; making plain the things we hope to be, the goals we have for this year, and what we desire those goals to bring us. This is a key step in creating a successful vision board. If you’re interested in learning more about what Brenda teaches, click the image below to visit her Facebook page.
Proverbs 29:18 warns “Where there is no vision, the people perish”, and so we then got into a spirit of worship and entered the place that Pastor Sharri Thomas has deemed “The Healing Room”. By stepping behind the veil and entering the Holy of Holies, God met me right where I was. He coached me through spiritually birthing the vision that has been gestating within me. This is where I received word that I will be traveling with the Gospel, my son will accompany me on these journeys, he will be homeschooled, and we will be called to Honduras.
While creating my vision board, I spoke with a woman there named Diane Winfree, the Executive Director of the Artistic By Design Center in Cleveland, OH. She instructs music lessons and facilitates workshops and camps with children as well as seniors in the community. Now we are partnering up to bring a daycare camp of art and music this Spring to a bilingual daycare in Cleveland! In my excitement to start this project the day after we connected I had my entire lesson plan drafted and my supply list written. When a creation functions the way it was designed, things happen quickly and with ease. This is one of my greatest takeaways from the experience.
The Word of God says in Jeremiah 1:5
5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew[a] you,
before you were born I set you apart;
I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
It is important to learn who you are and what your calling is. God designed each and every one of us as His solution to a problem in the world. If you will discover your calling, determine what it is you do with ease, what you love, what you would do for free, then you will be a great change in this world. If you feel like you have failed, or that your life derailed from dreams you had that now feel out of reach, do not be distraught. Be comforted by Isaiah 61:3 3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.
It is upon this foundation that I move forward into 2019. My vision board is a daily reminder of God’s love for me, His promises to me, and His awesome plans for this year. Sight is a vision of the eyes and vision is a function of the heart. Use your heart to navigate God’s purpose on your life. In closing, I want to share with you this awesome word that I received at church found in Amos 9:13-15 in the Message Bible translation;
13-15 “Yes indeed, it won’t be long now.” God’s Decree.
“Things are going to happen so fast your head will swim, one thing fast on the heels of the other. You won’t be able to keep up. Everything will be happening at once—and everywhere you look, blessings! Blessings like wine pouring off the mountains and hills. I’ll make everything right again for my people Israel:
“They’ll rebuild their ruined cities.
They’ll plant vineyards and drink good wine.
They’ll work their gardens and eat fresh vegetables.
And I’ll plant them, plant them on their own land.
They’ll never again be uprooted from the land I’ve given them.”
God, your God, says so.
Did you see that? God, your God, says so!
